Just over a year ago, I remembered taking my grade 7 electone examinations. In electone (a musical instrument similar to a organ), the starting grade is grade 13, and the graduating grade is grade 6. The songs that I had to play in grade 7 are difficult and I have never been that good in electone, always just scraping past every exam.
Furthermore, my parents paid over a $120 just for me to take the examination, so the pressure was on me to pass. The examconsist of five sections: songs, arrangement, side reading, improvisation and hearing, and I was not very good at the latter three sections.
The exam was held during the school holidays, so when I woke up, I practised non-stop until noon, had a quick lunch, and headed to the exan venue half an hour earlier to register. Then I waited. While waiting, I thought: This exam is dirrerent than the others. Will the examiners be fiercer? Will I lose my composure and plat a wrong note during the exam? Will I pass?
As all my friends went in and out of the examination room, cold sweat was starting to pour over my body and I was shivering. My friends who went in before me gave me the thumbs up sign and I felt a little reassured. But when I stepped into the examination room, I started to panic again. Luckily, the examiners smiled at me and I calmed down.
The songs and arrengement section was fairly easy, but when it came to the sight reading part, my heart started throbbing again. Then I thought of the lessons that I had, my teacher and everyone that is supporting me and I managed to go through the rest of the exam quite easily.
A month later, I received my result. I managed one point again but nonetheless it is a pass.I had gone through this difficulty, because I thought of everyone who supported me and I hope that if you (the reader) has any difficulties, you could try this method too.
